10:00 PM

Hours before leaving Seagirt Marine Terminal, the cargo ship Dali experienced a blackout during in-port maintenance.

12:36 AM

Two tugboats gently maneuvered the Dali away from the dock. By 12:51 a.m., the Dali had gained momentum, cruising at a steady speed of 3.2 knots.

1:18 AM

The Dali departs the port, charting a course toward the Francis Scott Key Bridge at a speed of 7 knots.

1:25 AM

The Dali's electrical breakers unexpectedly tripped, cutting power to the ship's lighting, main engine cooling pumps, and steering gear pumps.

1:26 AM

The crew restored electrical power to the vessel.

1:27 AM

A second blackout occured. The pilot ordered the rudder hard to port at 35 degrees, but with the main engine still shut down, the vessel had no propulsion to aid in steering.

1:29 AM

The Dali hits the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
